Avionco has developed an industry specific software application designed for reliable document retrieval. The safekeeping of aircraft maintenance records documentation and the ability to produce documents on demand is critical to the continuing airworthiness of the aircraft and its components.
Companies around the world, but specifically inNorth America and Europe are embracing new document strategies that recognize new technology which removes constraints of the past. Regulatory constraints that used to exist have now been removed with new regulations allowing AvFile to be utilized with approved document storage procedures.
AvFile is an easy to use, affordable method of electronically storing and retrievingvaluable aircraft documents and records critical to maintaining aircraft continuing airworthiness and supporting lease remarketing efforts. AvFile is a web based product, however, Avionco licences the product for use on a company intranet (LAN) environment.
The product is tailored to several segments of the aviation industry including all airlines, lease companies, asset managers, corporate aviation managers and owners. Sales and remarketing efforts for used aircraft can be enhanced by allowing potential clients access to the aircraft documents prior to expensive travel to view the aircraft and records.
AvFile supports the following industry business sectors;
Airlines- will use AvFile to supplement their current computerized maintenance tracking programs. Features like the Component History Card (CHC or sometimes known as Installation, Removal History; I.R.H) and the Airworthiness Directive Compliance module are designed to address specific record-keeping deficiencies in some airlines. The basic product addresses a new approach to aircraft records storage.
MRO's- will use AvFile to maintain repaired component history for products serviced. AvFile is ideal for use to maintain purchased parts certifications related to parts required for the repair of components. There is an opportunity to use AvFile for cost recovery where requests for aircraft information or document copies are received by the O.E.M.. The delivery of this service by the O.E.M. will be low cost in that administrative costs for the OEM will be reduced to potentially a fraction of current costs.
Lessors and Asset Managers- will use AvFile for remarketing and risk management. A complementary product currently in development will address another dimension covering MRB and regulatory requirements and the linking of documents to required inspection tasks.
O.E.M.'s- will use AvFile for the purpose of storing records related to the certification and release of each new aircraft, engine, prop or other component (as required by regulatory authorities). There is an opportunity to use AvFile for cost recovery where requests for aircraft information or document copies are received by the O.E.M.. The delivery of this service by the O.E.M. will be low cost in that administrative costs for the OEM will be reduced to potentially a fraction of current costs.
AvFile Benefits:
Reduce paper storage/archiving issue
Q uick retrieval of critical docs
N o lost paperwork causing costly removal of components or repeatinspections
H igher level of regulatory compliance
S aved $ in maintenance costs
M ulti site access
C oncurrent multi user access
L ow initial costs to initiate an electronic document filing strategy
S hort lead time to obtain the electronic document storage capability
T raining and set-up services available
The benefits to industry sectors are as follows;
Airlines/Operators
-no lost documents.savings resulting better record keeping..components no longer having to be removed from aircraft because of lost/misplaced paperwork. Inspections no longer have to be repeated due to lack of compliance due to unavailable documentation.
-saved time in searches for misplaced documents (hundreds or thousands of labour hours in productivity gains every year
-saved $ in storage space.current storage can cost as much as $30./sq ft per year.
-lower risk of document loss due to water or fire damage or otherdisasters.
-multiple site access.your auditors can do record investigations without travel or assistance from records personnel. Easier access means lower costs and higher quality within the organization.
-better communication with your local regulatory body.e-mailed documents to your principal maintenance inspector save time and $.
Lessors,Asset Managers, Financial Instituations
- enhanced existing technical services
-lower risks when leasing. Copies of the documents supporting the asset value are retained by the owner or manager allowing recovery of the asset in a hostile environment with lower risk and cost.
-improved mid lease monitoring of the asset condition. Many leases run five or more years. The asset can be monitored via on-line documentation review and collection to ensure no devaluation is occurring due to lack of proper maintenance.
-improved global access to potential business. A full on-line document file cabinet allows potential lessees to review the asset from anywhere in the world. Get your aircraft into the running when you are half way around the world from the action.
MRO's :
Two versions of the product are envisioned for the MRO environment. The first is to the MRO that caters to component repair and O/H market, the second to the MRO or airline that wants to record and file all the parts certs flowing into the organization via their stores receiving system.
-improved customer service.MRO customers have an expectation that the work they have done at a facility will be safely archived for years to come. The reality is many facilities run out of room and start to dispose of records immediately after the regulatory minimum period elapses resulting in lower levels of customer service.
-receiving records ( PO's and batch files) are archived and over time are disposed of, become lost or are extremely time consuming to retrieve.
-a higher rate of compliance with local regulatory requirements..regulatory requirements for expendables and consumables require the records to be maintained as long as the stock remains on the shelf and well after.this can be several years in some cases.
-Saved $ in reduced inventory losses due to disposal resulting from lost tracability/certs. (usually discovered by Regulatory audits and internal audits)
